Poltergeists are a little more difficult to explain than ghosts.  A poltergeist is a misguided spirit that wants people out of their house so they can be left alone, or it could be a spirit trying to get attention so the people in the house can help them to find peace and cross over.

A misguided spirit will stop at nothing to get people off their property, they can and will hurt you.  Mostly scare tactics, they range all the way to harmful pranks.  Levitating and hurling silverware, mostly forks and knives, or pushing someone down a flight of stairs.  It could eventually kill someone, in these cases, you might even have to go so far as an exorcism.  But that doesn’t even work all the time, you would be better off leaving and not coming back, that’s all the spirit wants.

Another form of poltergeist is the one that just wants to get your attention so that you can help it rest in peace and cross over.  These are more like children, mothers, or families.  They know they are dead and want to be at peace.  They are harmless, all they want to do is let you know they are there.  If you find yourself in a house with a poltergeist, notice the behavior, if it’s cruel or harmful, it’s evil.  Levitating furnisture or help notes on fogged glass, they need your help.
