My wife and kids love the show Ghost Hunter on SyFy. Myself, I’m a cynic by nature. The bumps, breezes and flashy lights they find week after week don’t impress me all that much, even with the infrared and spooky whispering. Not that I don’t believe in ghosts, because I do. I’ve had an unexplainable event or two in my life, enough so that I freely admit that some things simply have no known explanation. But I’m of the opinion that ghosts aren’t as mysterious as we make them out. Maybe they exist on a level of reality that can bleed over into ours. Maybe it really is something ’supernatural’ in nature.

What I am certain of is this… with the technology we have now, if we’re seeing the things, cameras can, too. It got me to thinking… what would I do if I got a picture of a ghost? Or something of a supernatural nature? Why… I’d youtube it, of course. So to youtube I went. And lo and behold… there are loads of movies with supernatural this and that. Most of them, of course, are crap. Obvious crap. But I did find some that I couldn’t say weren’t true. Some of them are actually rather frightening. Here are some of them.

This one was pretty sweet. Poltergeists are, for the most part, unimpressive. But this one made me jump.

You have to assume that most of these are hoaxes, but this one… wow. The production just plain kicked ass.

I think it’s the reaction that almost sells this one… these dudes really sound terrified.

If nothing else, this is a ‘hell’ of an urban legend. Purportedly, some 40 years ago, a scientific team was digging into the crust in Seberia, measuring something to do with plate techtonics or some such. They hit an air pocket, lowered a mic, and before it melted, got this…

Angels? I guess you just don’t know.

There are dozens, if not hundreds, more, but these are enough food for thought. The bottom line is that we just don’t know. While I am aware that most , if not all, of these, are rubbish, there are a few that I’m just not quite sure… and while I could dig more, I won’t. I like it this way.
