The Basics of Ghost Hunting
Hunting for the paranormal.
First, you need to remember that when you are ghost hunting you need to have a clear mind. If you are clearly afraid to enter a house that may be haunted perhaps it’s best that you wait until the feelings have passed. Have your favorite spiritual items in your pocket or in hand. The items will be a sort of protection if you are dealing with a really nasty spirit.
As for gear, you should have an EVP recorder. It’s a small hand-held recorder that supposedly records the voices of the supernatural. Make sure you have a camera or video camera, an instruments to detect high energy frequencies. Most importantly, you should never ghost hunt alone. The reason for the buddy system is in case you’re specific entity is malicious. Spirits have been known to cause physical harm to their house guests.
There are two times that are best for hunting and those are midnight (witching hour) and three in the morning (dead time). Also make sure that everyone in the house is out except for your partner and yourself. If there are other people in the house the evidence will get contaminated. Do not openly admit that you are frightened, scared, or petrified and try to keep your bearing. It is believed that entities, demons, etc., feed off your emotions.
When using your EVP equipment make sure you state your name and what room you are in so that your voice is not confused with the supernatural. It is also smart to state your name and that you’re leaving the room at the end of that particular session. Each room should be thoroughly inspected. When finished with the hunt make sure you get enough rest before going over the evidence.
With these “basic” principals you should be able to do your own ghost hunt either in your own home or in other homes.
