The Best Alien Conspiracies Ever Exist
Life’s dull, let’s face it. It would be great to think that there are strange mysteries lurking out there, just beyond outreach, guarded by strange and powerful forces. Whether it is the activities of the Knight Templar, the sad and untimely death of Elvis, or the existence of a real alien craft on an airbase in Nevada, we love to tantalize ourselves with exciting conspiracies. If only at least some of them were true.
Crop Circles

First appearing in the early 1980s, crop circles – regular patterns of flattened long-stemmed crops such as wheat – are thought by some to be the work of alien intelligence. Over the years several hoaxers have come forward to claim credit for their work., but true believers point out that just because some of the circles are fake does not automatically mean that they all true.
A Familiar Face

Our brains have evolved to see patterns, even when they aren’t really there. These two images of the Cydonia region of Mars were taken in 1976 and 2001. The first appears to show a huge ‘alien’ face on the surface of the planet. The second image is much clearer, revealing the ‘face’ to be nothing more than a change arrangement of rocks and shadows.
Alien Art

These paintings feature object that look like UFOs sending down beams of light. Might this mean that aliens have been visiting us for centuries? Or do we simply interpret weird things according to our beliefs at the time? The Fitzwilliam Museum, owners of The baptism of Christ by Aert de Gelder in 1710, has requested that we say that they do not endorse the idea that the painting represent am alien spacecraft.
Aliens or Animals

Many people who believe they have been abducted by aliens claim that their memories have been altered, with images of animals sometimes replacing those of the aliens. Our memories are tricky thing and it can be hard to tell what is real – with a little imagination you can see aliens behind every wide-eyed animal and strange experience.
UFOs

Most UFO film and photographs have been shown to be fakes, but some remain unexplained – through that does not mean they show alien spacecraft. UFO images are mysteriously never clear enough to positively identify the craft as coming from another planet. We all love the suspense of not knowing for certain, but if this footage were clearer, would an Earth-based explanation seem obvious?

Ah, hooray for rationalism! A doctor told me once some people thinks warts are caused by stress but as for me, if I can’t see it or touch it’s not real. It has served us well, this hardcore logic approach, after all, look at the state of the banking system. So in your article you say, ‘with just a little imagination,’ and of course, we can’t ever have that.

It’s just our understanding of what we don’t know becoming something that will one day be apprehended . j

Thanks for that. I doubt we’re the only ones in the universe but I also doubt we’re the center of the universe. And if the conspiracy theorists are right, the aliens (who surely have lots of places to visit, lots of things to do) hang out only in the relatively primitive (by their standards at least) Earthlings.
That never made a whole heck of a lot of sense to me…
But hey, maybe Earth is en route to a really famous inter-galactic pub or something and what we’re “seeing” are drunk aliens on a “pub crawl”… Makes about as much sense as anything else?

interesting read. and nice pictures. three things i believe in:
1. i believe we are not alone;
2. there is life in other planets/galaxies/solar systems; and
3. that life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved.
nice work!

Very good. Our minds can definitely play tricks on us sometimes. Although I never saw that “Baptism of Christ” painting before. Was that really done in 1710? Sure looks like a spaceship in the sky to me.

Someday we will find the answers, and will probaby be dissappointed to realize that the truth behind all this alien stuff is not nearly as exciting as we hypothosized it to be.
