The Face in the Fire and the Art of Pyromancy
Spirits have many ways of showing themselves to us, quite often utilizing the natural world to form their physical appearance.
They are said to be the representation of the fire element of the Fey or Fairy kingdom and are known in many guises and names such as;
- Salamanders
- Drakes
- Farralis
- Ra-Arus
- Dragons
- Grak
- Krat
- Drachen
- Genie
- Jan
- Djnn
- Jin
- Jinn
- Ginn
Fire energy is a powerful element to work with and breathes life, power, courage and passion into all it touches, but must be treated with respect as it can quickly overpower and dominate the person or situation. It deals with transformation, transition and regeneration, ranging in size from as small as candle flames to as huge as a fiery volcano often taking human form.
You can connect and work with this energy by using a form of divination called Fire Scrying, also known as Pyromancy. This can be by using a simple candle flame or by sitting by a roaring fire. Many people also gaze upon the glowing embers as the fire dies down. Fire gazing has such a hypnotic effect and very quickly drops you into a self induced hypnotic trance very similar to daydreaming. The key is not to force anything, just to allow your mind to wander and be open to anything that you may see either physically in the flames or within your mind (clairvoyantly). What you see varies from person to person, you may see visions of the past, present or future or may receive a direct message or image that you will connect with straightaway. Quite often you may see images in the form of symbols that you will need to interpret later on.
Sometimes they turn the tables on you and appear to watch you instead of the other way around!
One evening last Winter I was sat by the fire reading while my husband was playing around with the different settings on our camera snapping off a few photos. It wasn’t until we uploaded them onto the computer the following day that we noticed something very unusual about one of them. When we enlarged it the profile of a face could be seen quite clearly. I have inserted it into the main photo as well as making it even larger and sharpening it a little to give it more definition.

Many people who have seen this have seen other images in it as well, including a child running into the arms of a woman, what can you see?
Another photo taken a few years ago at our youngest daughter’s birthday party shows the fire fairies holding hands and dancing around the cake. Other photos taken at the same time appeared quite normal.

I enjoyed reading your article on pyromancy very much. I have a similiar interest in fire but only for its entertainment value. I used to do a lot of camping with my family when our children were younger. I have a piece you may enjoy called ‘The Gypsy Moth’s Dilemma’. You may want to check it out.
I enjoy your writing style and look forward to reading more. Dave
