The Ghosts of the Alamo
Believe in ghosts? If not, spend an evening walking the area in front of The Alamo. You will change your mind.
The Alamo is located in San Antonio, Tx. If you have never visited and are in the area or just in the mood for a good old fashioned ghost encounter, this is THE place to be this Halloween (or any other time, for that matter). A big battle was fought at The Alamo in 1836 with the Mexican troops of Santa Ana and the Texan troops led my William B. Travis. This battle was extremely bloody with many dead soldiers left at the sight to decompose. Those that were wounded and on the ground eventually died a slow death since there was no one around to render aid. Some of the wounded were in so much pain that they decided to just shoot themselves instead of ending up tortured by the Mexican army. Santa Ana was ruthless as he ordered any survivor to be decapitated or burned alive.
Hence, the ghosts of The Alamo. Some say that you can hear the painful moans and groans of those that lay dying. Others attest to the fact that of hearing the sounds of spurs as sodiers walked around assessing the terrible and bloody damage. Many have noted feeling cold drafts of air as they are standing at The Alamo grounds when the temperature outside is 90 degrees. Dogs that are being walked by their owners start howling and ”staring” at something that is just “not there”. Many psychics have visited The Alamo and say that there are many spirits lingering in the area. Some of these spirits are lost and are waiting for someone to help them find peace.
You might be the next one to experience these eerie encounters. You may want to book a ghost tour. They offer a 2 hour every evening at dusk. Be sure to stop by the Visitor’s Center located right in front of The Alamo. If you want a truly haunting experience, be sure to stay at one of the hotels that are in front of or next to The Alamo. I have personally stayed at the Emily Morgan….it used to be a hospital for the mentally ill. Let me just tell you, I did NOT sleep during my stay there. That was an encounter that I will never forget!
Keep up the haunting spirit…..

Where in this world or the next did you come up with such absolutely false information. General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna never ordered anyone burned alive or decapitated. No quarter, yes, but not as you describe. And there were no wounded Texians remaining after the March 6 battle to shoot themselves. The dead were not left to decompose. Texian defenders bodies were burned in a pyre and Mexican dead buried. Mexican wounded were treated in San Antonio or taken with in wagons on Santa Anna’s continuing march. Get your facts straight, then your ghost stories will have a little more plausibility.

My dog named “Crockett” howls and sings when I play the music “Deguello”.
