The Mystery of Aguinaldo’s Shrine

Aguinaldo’s Shrine is the house of the Philippines’ 1st President, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo. It is the site of the Philippine’s 1st Independence Day and can be considered as one of the most historical places in the country.

General Aguinaldo has a very large mansion about 1 hectare and 6 storeys high. This is a place which every person with a Filipino blood must see. After the General has died his mansion was turned into a historical museum open to all and free of charge.

Few people know what really lies beneath this old house. There are hundred of stories and only some will be unfolding on this piece.

I have lived in the Philippines my whole life and our residence is located in front of the shrine. I have heard lots of stories and some of it I experienced myself.

The White Lady

The Shrine’s balcony is seen in my room clearly even if I am lying on my bed. One night I saw a figure of a woman standing in the balcony. I didn’t mind it because I was very sleepy that time and that I thought that this could be something else due to my poor eyesight. About a week after I was given a binocular with a night vision. I hang it in my room and it became useful for sometimes spying on people passing by outside our house.

It was a cold night. I woke up due to headache and have accidentally looked outside my window through the shrine’s balcony. I have seen the same image I’ve seen during the past month. I think of looking in the binocular for a closer look and to figure out what it truly is. My hair stood on ends, my body shook, and my heart pounded fast and hard. I’ve seen clearly a lady wearing a white dress. Her hair is very long and a she looked from where I am, I’ve realized that this lady has no face!

The Ghost of the Fist President

Every year in the 12th of June Philippines is celebrating Independence Day. During the year 1993, the celebration conducted a History Quiz Bee. A seven year old girl has won the contest. During the interview she said that somebody has taught her all the answers. “There was an old man wearing a soldier suit with flat top styled hair (exact description of General Aguinaldo), he told me all the answers. And when they show the picture of the general she admitted that he’s the man who coached her.
