Time Glitch of Memory Slip

Some had had these moments, others haven’t.

Sometimes, for some people, there are moments in time. Like when you see an interview with a famous person on television. While you are watching this interview yo think to yourself, whoa, I thought this person was dead! But they’re not dead. They are right there on live tv. Or maybe you see the anouncement that this person is celebrating their birthday, or that they have just died.

Obviouslyyou could explain this away by saying you must have received some mis-information somewhere, or you just remembered something wrong.

I have had one of these moments. I remember very clearly onetime as a young child. I was watching something on on tv with my mother. Somehow we got on the topic of Captain Kangaroo. Keep in mind that this is sometime around the early 1990’s. My mother mentioned that Captain Kangaroo was dead. I remember saying, “Wow, I didn’t know that.” Now after this point I honestly remember having other conversations with other people about the death of Captain Kangaroo. This was a known fact to them too. Captain Kangaroo was dead in the early 1990’s.

It wasn’t until later, in 2004, that I found out that in fact, Captain Kanaroo was not dead in the 1990’s. In fact, the actor who played Captain Kangaroo did not die until 2004. Needless to say, I was floored by this information. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4038505/

That’s not even the wierd thing. Since this time I have come aross people who have thought he had passed sooner than he did. On the other hand, I have met people who never heard of his death until 2004.

What is this? He did die years ago didn’t he? Or was the original report of his demise greatly exagerated?http://forums.allaboutjazz.com/archive/index.php/t-3167.html

I have learned that there is a broad spectrum of experiences that people have had that are similar. I am very interested in hearing about your experience. Please leave comments, and let me know your experiences or opinions.
