Time Travel, is It Possible?
The fantasies of time travel, is it possible? Here is an insight to why time travel is beyond what humans will and can ever be able to control.
Fantasies, from popular books to Hollywood movies
From fictional books to Hollywood movies, Time Travel has always been a popular theme. Movies like Planet of the Apes and Tomb Raider, the Cradle of Life makes time travel seem so easily achievable and realistic, but brings bizarre outcomes.
Often times, time travel is portrayed in space. Most popularly, portrayed in the Star Trek series.
In Tomb Raider, the Cradle of Life, beautiful Lara Croft seeks the one object rumored to have the ability to control time in order to be united with her beloved father once more.
Planet of the Apes, protagonist Captain Leo Davidson, gets caught up in a space thunderstorm when trying to rescue his chimpanzee ally in a space mission, and crash lands on a future earth.
The popular Harry Potter, and the Prisoner of Azkaban, showed an interesting little device called the time turner that rolls back time in perspective of the wearer.
The Newberry Honor book, A Wrinkle in Time, (title gives it all away… ^_^ ) portrays three supernatural beings, Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, ,and Mrs. Which, who transports four school students, Meg, Charles Wallace, and Calvin, through the galaxy using a means similar to space travel.
Real Question: Is time travel possible?
Is time travel, or rather will time travel ever be possible? What is the likelihood of the time travel in the future?
Time is an entity in which is beyond the physical realm. Sure we use clocks to measure time, but time takes no physical form. We see the effects of time everyday, from sunrise to nightfall, all is of the effects of time. But to control time is simply different from witnessing it.
Correlation between Dreams and Time
Dreams are similar to time, in that it takes no physical form. It is merely an illusion in which our minds conjure when we rest. Physically, it is impossible to directly manipulate a dream. No machine, no human, nothing of this world is able to directly affect a dream, however, the dreamer, can be affected; thus provides an indirect possibility to manipulate that dream.
Say someone where to arrange the scent of cookies near a dreamer’s nose. The aroma of the cookies, after entering, could then could ultimately influence the dream, but only by means of the medium, the dreamer.
The point in drawing this relationship between dreams and time, is that one can see that a dream, regardless how vast it may be, is unable to be affected by the physical world directly. Only by a means of a physical medium is the dream able to be altered.
Time, also an entity beyond the here and now, is vastly beyond proportion of our world. To control every aspect of time would most likely be impossible, but to find the medium and control it could very well be a possibility. Sadly, the likelihood of finding such a medium would most likely be impossible in the physical realm. The physical world is bounded by time itself; thus, a medium in which controls time must be outside of time, unbounded by its vast powers.
Sad, but True
In essence, time manipulation, or time travel, is beyond any advancement that mankind may invent. Technology and man cannot will an entity beyond the physical realm. The first step to achieving time travel would be the manipulation of the spiritual realm, and thus an impossible step for mankind.
Time travel, as realistic as it is conveyed our modern-day-age, is most definitely beyond the grasp of man. Time travel will remain to be fictional as much as the stories in which portray it’s possibility.
