UFO Sighting: Really

by grimreaper1050 in Paranormal, August 10, 2008

This is a first hand account of a sighting of a UFO.

How many of you are amazed by the overwhelming number of UFO sightings reported on programs like the History Channel and the Discovery Channel? Don’t you feel that if you see one more clip on Area 51 and the many cover-ups of the US government over the years; you are going to scream? So much video footage and declassified documents with black lines permanently crossing out details of encounters that would send the world reeling in fear of an alien invasion. When you take the testimonies of witnesses and people who claim to have been abducted you tend to scratch your head as if you are listening to a used car salesman selling you a supercharged sports car that was only driven on Sundays by an elderly woman going to church.

When you see a sighting yourself, this is quite a different story. My chance sighting occurred as I was driving north on Central Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona during rush hour traffic at 4:45pm. I was on my way to my rental property to check on a repair that I was told needed attention and the sun was setting to my left. Central Avenue is shaded by trees on both sides so there was no glare on my windshield. As I fixed my eyes about 100 feet ahead at the traffic light, I saw a “cigar” shaped object about the size of a blimp descending at a fast and steady rate at a 30 degree angle approximately the same distance as the next traffic light.

My mind kicked into overdrive! I ruled out that it was a plane as there was no airport in the area where this object was heading to land. The rate and angle of decent would not be aeronautically safe for any conventional aircraft of its size. In all, I witnessed this object for about 15 seconds until it disappeared from sight by the trees on the east side of Central Avenue. My immediate response after seeing this object disappear behind the tree line was to look over to my right at a truck that was even with my truck. Had this driver also seen what I had seen? Unfortunately, because of his tinted windows I could not see. For some reason, it occurred to me to honk my horn to see if I would get a chorus of other witnesses who would confirm what I had seen, but my logic kicked in and I decided against it. Other drivers might misinterpret my horn blowing for some other reason. Since my rental property was in the same area as where this object was landing, I parked and looked for signs of smoke for some 20 minutes. No smoke appeared.

For the next couple of days, I parked myself in front of the evening news for chance of a story of a UFO sighting or plane crash. No story was covered. To this day, if someone asks me if I believe in UFOs I relate my story of what happened on Central Avenue in Phoenix. Like everyone who follows these accounts, they have to be the judge of what is a real sighting and what is not.
