Visits From the Dead
My experience with visits from family members who have passed over.
I am dreaming more about my brother now that my father is with him. Every time my brother visits me in a dream I go running into his arms just as I did when I was a kid when he visited the house. I was six years old when he got married. I didn’t even grow up with him, which makes me miss him more. His visits to me in my dreams are heart warming.
I told my mother about my dreams. She was disturbed that neither her son nor her husband of nearly sixty years visited her in her dreams. She did say, however, that she feels Dad lying next to her in bed. I told her this should bring her great comfort, that he is with her. And when he finally did pay her that visit while she was sleeping, they hugged each other so tightly my mother couldn’t let go.
My father has been gone a year and a half now. My mother still feels him next to her in bed, her lights flicker, and he still turns my TV on every once in awhile. I miss him terribly but I know he is with me – always.

I’m so happy to hear that you are receiving visits from your brother and father Mary. I know how difficult it is losing a parent, and someone close to you. My mom’s been gone for 10 years now, and it took me many years to get past her death. So often I would go to pick up the phone to call her, and then remember she was gone. I know my dad still dreams of her, and says that he hears her talking to him many times in his dreams.
Thanks for sharing this, and I do hope that you find some peace in knowing that your brother and father are happy together.

That is such a beautiful and touching article, Pat. I am so glad both your brother and father are keeping in touch with you from beyond.

I think it is a touching story. But just to let you know Sylvia Brown is a vile, disgusting toad of a women. Who has no right playing games, at very serious work. She is a fruad and at best a really good educational guesser. But Still lovely story about your father and your brother.

I have had 3 dreams that I believe were visits from my deceased relatives.
The first was from my father the day that my mother died. That evening I had fallen asleep on the couch and had a dream I was in an airport and saw a young version of my father come out of the crowd. He had luggage in his hands which he set down on the floor. As that happened I saw a very close image of his face with a very big smile. The image suddenly disappeared with a whooshing sound and it was over. I feel that this was a visit from him to me to let me know how happy he was to be reunited with my mother.
The second was maybe a year or so after my mother died. Again I was in an airport and was walking along with my brother talking. All of a sudden I saw my mother approaching us from out of the crowd. I stopped when I saw her but my brother kept walking as if he didn\’t see her. She came up to me and gave me a big hug which I really felt and remember as if it really happened. She said \” I\’m happy now I can do what I like! \” As with the first dream it ended suddenly with a big whooshing noise.
The third dream was of my brother-in -law who had passed over a few months before. I was in the board room at work by myself I guess waiting for a meeting to start. I could smell cigarette smoke and when I looked toward the end of the table I saw my brother-in-law Jim sitting there smoking a cigarette as he did very often in life. He said \” everyone thinks I\’m gone but I\’m still here\” . The dream ended suddenly.
Based on my experiences with these dreams I believe they were visits from my relatives after death. The dreams did not feel like other ones I have had. After reading others experiences I believe this even more. I believe we should keep an open mind to these experiences as there is so much we don\’t know or just can\’t prove at this point.

Interesting. I’ve been looking for a story like this on the internet. My dad recently passed and my husband took me shopping for a wall unit I’ve been wanting the week he died (probably to cheer me up). Ever since I bought the unit, the lights built within the unit flicker on and off for no apparent reason. It happens all different times of the day (not every day but on occassion). Sometime we come home from work and they are on and sometimes they just go on and off when we are standing around or watching tv. I just yell out “hey dad – miss you and love you”. I love to think its my dad saying hello and that he is okay. Its a very comforting thought.

My Dad died this past September, and I miss him terribly. Once a week I go and spend the night at my Mom’s house, usually sleeping in the room where he died. The first few weeks, I would use my cell phone as my alarm; I would go to bed with four bars showing, and after the first week, the phone would make beeping noises and light up in the middle of the night, for no clear reason. Twice it simply went dead; no battery. The second time that that happened, I said, out loud, “Dad, don’t mess with the phone! I need to wake up at 6!” Although the phone battery was dead, I woke up sharply at 6 AM, thinking that my Dad had called my name.
On my birthday, 6 months after my father died, I went to sleep with my cell phone by my bed. I woke up at 5:45AM to the sound of the cell phone alarm. My husband and I both jumped up, as we never have that alarm set! I checked the phone; the alarm had been set for three days earlier, set for 6AM. It was now ringing in my hand, and reading “alarm off”.
Oh, and my Dad always called me on my birthday, ever since the year that I moved out to get married, thirty years ago.
Dad; I KNEW it was you!!!!!

I became handicapped (spinal stenosis/fibromyalgia) 9 yrs ago. Before that, i used to have dreams of myself using nothing but a type of chair or cushion that would propel me anywhere i needed to go. I would dream this alot, not knowing that someday i would be unable to walk like everyone else. At the time, i never gave thought to why i dreamt this so often. well, it finally stopped when it came to light that i would never be be able to walk normally without a great deal of pain. Now, i have begun to dream of my grandmother, my stepbrother, my father, stepsister,(who I dont know her status) and a ‘boy’friend I had a terrible crush on in highschool. I dont know if the ‘boy’friend has passed on, but the rest have. I dream of them almost , i would say, 2-3 times a week.
And of course it makes me wonder what it all means. I have had the usual signs of tv changing channels by itself, and small dark objects dashing around in my bedroom, VERY fast, yet obvious. I am not afraid, but I would love to have something more obvious. like a voice. in the dreams, they are just there, hardly any interaction with me in the dream, just in it. I am a true believer in the paranormal and the after life, and I am sharing this experience with you in hope that you will share similiar experiences. Thank you for listening. Margo

I am on this site because my brother John just died July 22, 2010, he has five children. The youngest son took a photo of himself with his cell phone in the bathroom mirror on Friday night, to send to a girl he was talking to. My brother is clearly in the picture with his son and I would not have believed this in a thousand years, but I have the picture on my computer. Our entire family is still in shock, we have never been into this type of stuff, so we really don’t know what to make of it, but we think it is wonderful.
