What is a Crop Circle?
Are Crop Circles trampled circles made by man or are they messages from aliens? This article looks at both sides of the story…
Are crop circles created by man?
Yes, some crop circles are made by man but it is highly likely that most are not. Although theories have ranged from hedge hogs running in circles to circles created by aliens. Many people claim to have been making crop circles. They claim to have made the simple ones and also the very complex ones. These people even show how they make the circles by taking a piece of wood with a wire strapped around it as a handle and using the wood to flatten the crop. However, when researchers try this method, it works but makes a very messy crop circle. As well, when the people who claim to have been making circles are asked the scientific questions about the circles, they are unable to answer them and come up with excuses that don’t satisfy the scientists.
What is the difference between real and a hoax?
The biggest difference between a real and a hoax crop circle is when the stems of the plants are broken instead of bent. In a fake, the stems will be broken causing the crop circle to look sloppy. In a genuine crop circle you might also find exploded nodes, strange substances and twisted plants. When a researcher tries to figure out if a crop circle is real or fake, he has to know if he is the first one there after the crop circle was formed or his information could have been changed by other people. The more complex a crop circle is, the more chance it isn’t a hoax.
Real or Fake – You Decide?
Here is a story of a crop circle sighting. You decide if it is real or a hoax.
A pilot named Rod Taylor was flying a passenger in his plane over Stonehenge. It was about 5 PM and the day was clear and sunny and the pilot did not see anything unusual. He was flying at about 500 ft above the ground. After he landed, his passenger drove past Stonehenge about 45 minutes later. He was surprised that some cars stopped and some people were getting out of their cars. The passenger stopped and saw that the people were looking at a spectacular crop circle now lying in the field next to Stonehenge. The crop circle was a picture of a computer-generated Julia Set, which is a mathematical design used to calculate complex measurements dealing with chaos theory. What was unusual about this crop circle was that it had 149 circles and was aligned to Stonehenge. There were no other marks in the wheat except for the circles. Later other witnesses would pinpoint its time of creation to fifteen minutes.
