When Extraterrestrials Arrive Will You be Ready? Part Two
by We continue our exploration of the topic of pending “First Contact” with extraterrestrials, and the question of whether or not we’re ready. If aliens made themselves known to the world beyond the shadow of any doubt, and it could no longer be covered up, how would the world respond? For that matter how should the world respond?
In Part 1 of this series, When Extraterrestrials Arrive Will You Be Ready? Part 1, we talked about personal readiness, and explored the probability of “official” first contact having already occurred secretly, kept from the public under the selfish excuse of national security.
Possible Motivations
Now in Part 2 we’ll look into possible motivations for extraterrestrials coming here in the first place, and more specifically how they might approach Humanity. Then consequently we ask the question; what are our appropriate responses to these various motivations?

While it seems some feel there is only one appropriate response, “see them as a threat”, that is simply not valid, and frankly rather simplistic. It is valid for certain of these motivations, but not for all of them. We must be careful or we’ll find ourselves making an unnecessary powerful enemy. That would be extremely unwise. What follows is a list of possible motivations or intentions. After considering this list, we’ll expand upon the significance of each possibility. These categories can be seen as a spectrum from the “not so good” or simply bad intentions to better and ultimately even best motivations of all.

- Food Supply
- Enslavement
- Exploitation
- Duplicitous
- Explorers / Researchers
- Enlightened Self-Interests
- Establishing Trade Relations
- Benevolent
Apparent Redundancy and Overlap
On the surface some of these may seem a bit redundant, and in some cases there could definitely be overlap. For instance genocide, like we see attempted in the movies “Independence Day”, and “War of the Worlds”, is a form of conquest, but conquest could take on other forms, which do not even involve killing anyone. For example a powerfully telepathic race could manipulate our mental landscapes, and conquer us without a fight, and we might not even know it had happened. Such a conquest might have already occurred, and we remain unaware of it. Or a conquest of this sort may be in process right now behind the scenes, as has been suggested by such abduction researchers as Dr. David M. Jacobs. In his view, the so-called Grays are covertly seeking to telepathically control us into becoming more peaceful. Such telepathically manipulating alien conquers could be seen as “ruthlessly pacifistic”. Not exactly an arrangement one would expect, but a decidedly alien motivation. In fiction we see something similar to this kind of “covert” conquest, albeit inadequately depicted, and sensationalized in the science fiction B movie, “They Live”.

Excellent article. I found it to be well researched and well written. There are many races which can also translate into several different agendas as well as motavations. One must continue to look at and explore this subject matter on a much larger platform too.

Well, if the Grays are secretly using some kind of telepathy to make humans less violent, I’d have to say they are failing on a massive level. I’d tend to believe the opposite is true, that they’re making us MORE violent in hopes we’ll take one another out so they can sit back and wait for the pickings of whatever or whomever is left.
But then, I’m highly, highly skeptical that anything like the Grays even exists. Though I’m open to the possibilities.

The best evidence seems to indicate that extraterrestrials are genetically re-engineering humans to create a better earth hominoid with less affect and much more intelligence shared in a hive mind. Once their project is complete the new hominoid will be inserted onto this planet as a replacement for humankind. What that insertion will look like is moot, but I suspect that it could be done in a rather abrupt fashion. If we humans are lucky we may merely be rendered sterile and allowed to live out our natural lives without the ability to reproduce ourselves.
We should all be saddened the day that contact is made. At the very least, that day will be the beginning of the end of humanity. We will soon become a failed life form–failed due to our rapacious violence, our deviate sexual predilections, our penchant for self indulgent destruction and our preponderantly limited cognition. These are all genetically-inspired human traits, unfortunately.
