Conspiracy theories there are literally hundreds if not thousands of them, have you got a favourite? bet you have is it about “Titanic” or the “Kennedy assassination” or did we really land on the “Moon” or was the “Vietnam war” started over a card game?   I promise you they are endless conspiracy theories.   Ill list the well known ones that immediately spring to mind.

The “Titanic” disaster in 1912, the British ocean liner Titanic struck an iceberg in the Atlantic ocean, it sunk in a shade over 2 hours, with the loss of 1,500 lives one of the largest loss of life apart from war deaths.  Researchers have come up with a credible explanation a series of events fell into place to bring this disaster about.  An iceberg had drifted into the shipping lanes, that was unusual for that time of year.  There were no binoculars for the look outs, the rivets that held the steel plates together on Titanic’s hull were of an inferior grade and failed on impact with the iceberg.  The safety compartments didn’t go high enough to stop the sea water flooding the whole ship.  There wasn’t enough life boats for over half of the passengers, they drowned in nearly frozen water a human tragedy.

Conspiracy theorists deny the ship that sunk was the Titanic at all, they claim it was her sister ship the Brittanic why? isn’t the loss of life interesting enough for the CT [conspiracy theorists] it is claimed the Brittanic was damaged severely in a shipping accident and required thousands of pounds to repair properly.  The White Star line, bodged a repair if you will a temporary repair, swapped ships name plates ie Brittanic to Titanic, according to CT the White Star line swapped over all the cutlery from Titanic to Brittanic, they even claim they swapped propellers as the props were part number stamped and had the name of the ship stamped into the props. 

According to CT the White Star line let all 2,000 passengers board knowing the ship would most likely founder! the White Star line did all this to claim the insurance money on the Titanic look alike!  The accusations are terrible even libelous!  The CT’S theory is even more complicated than the disaster itself.  I cannot imagine any person let alone a company carry out such a heinous crime.

The “Apollo 11″ moon landings didn’t take place according to conspiracy theorists why not? I remember as a child being glued to the T.V. and watching the landings, my father impressed upon me the history making moment I was watching.  Because of one photograph of the American flag moving, the CT’S claim all the photos are fake we didn’t land on the moon at all.  Quite frankly I find this insulting to the brave astronauts that risked their very lives to further mans exploration of space.  CT’s claim outside our ozone layer radiation from the sun kills everything the astronauts could not survive for more than a few seconds! Have the CT’S stopped to think why their sky dish is still working? bear in mind the terrible radiation outside our atmosphere! surely it would kill off the micro-chips in the satellite beaming their T.V. programmes into their comfy lounges?  Just think for a moment of the thousands of people that worked on the Apollo space programme? don’t you think after all this time one of the scientists would have leaked the fact all the footage was shot in the desert and all the footage of the rocket taking off are fake? come on some one would leak the story for a few thousand dollars!

One of the most famous conspiracy theories is that of “Area 51″ CT’s claim an alien space craft crashed in the desert near Area 51, the battered space ship was taken under ground and the technology has been used and the American scientists in secret have made our own space ship and has been seen performing amazing flying maneuvers!  The occupant of the crashed alien space ship was dissected by doctors and there is even footage of this!   Now I don’t mean to be a wet blanket I’ve never been accused of lack of imagination [you should read some of my short stories!] but isn’t it just possible that Area 51 is a secret testing facility for military aircraft,  I remember the first time I saw a stealth bomber at an airshow wow! if that thing don’t look alien what does?  These aircraft were built in secrecy for obvious reasons, the Cold war was still going on, governments don’t spend billions of dollars developing new technology then test it over a playing field in between football games!  Its done in secret of course, no one in their right mind would give away a hard earned technology advantage.

The very sad death of “Lady Diana” sparked huge amounts of conspiracy theories.  It is claimed that MI6 was told to assassinate Lady Diana and make it look like an accident! why? she did fantastic work for charities all over the world she was loved world wide, I shed a tear myself when I heard the breaking news of her death.  The nation had a 2 minutes silence at her funeral.  Lady Diana had no power over government or the Royal family she was divorced from Prince Charles and was starting a new life.  Think what you will about the Royal family but the Mafia they are not!

Everybody claims to know where they were and what they were doing when ” president Kennedy” was shot and killed.  I wasn’t even born at the time of his assassination, however over the years I have seen countless documentaries and boundless conspiracy theories surrounding his murder.  The second gunman on the grassy knoll is almost accepted as true, now where is the proof?  You ask most people in the U.K. to recount his assassination they will without doubt say “Oh yes it was arranged by the mafia and there were 2 gunmen not 1″ or “It was an F.B.I. trained killer that was set off to kill using a code word” I wasn’t there I tend to believe the findings of the police investigations.

In conclusion a certain portion of the worlds population cannot accept acts or achievements that they are not capable of themselves.  I.E. “I’ve never been to the moon so its not possible!” or “A ship as big as the Titanic couldn’t just sink” If people don’t like what they hear they will make up their own version of the truth and go to great lengths to back up their theories.  I’m not saying I’m a good little boy and I believe everything I’m spoon fed because I don’t.  However if scientists or police investigators publish their findings, why can’t people just accept it unless they witnessed the event or the tragedy themselves.  Quite frankly I  have better things to do with my time than to make ludicrous Conspiracy Theories.
