Singer and poet, Alicia Keys, has made the announcement that she is now engaged and expecting a baby.
Representatitives have confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child, but the due date has not yet been made public. Keys is pregnant by her husband to be, producer and artist Swizz Beatz.
Beatz has two children already from previous relationships.
Keys had been involved in several acting and recording projects prior to 2001, including a song that she wrote which was featured on the soundtrack for the 1997 film “Men in Black”. Some of her music was later featured in “Shaft” and “Dr. Dolittle 2″. She exploded onto the music scene with her 2001 album, “Songs in A Minor”, followed by an equally successful “The Diary of Alicia Keys” in late 2003.
Keys is known largely for her blended musical composition style and her philanthropy work.
The couple, who have not made their wedding date public, will be married in a private ceremony later this year.
