Ashlee Simpson-wentz Chooses Motherhood Over Music
He 25 year old singer is on the verge of kissing her singing career goodbye. The reason, of course, is a very emotional one. She feels singing is not allowing her any time to spend with her 11 month old son, Bronx Mowgli Simpson-Wentz. Her frequent and long tours take her away from her son and don’t allow a consistent or stable home life.
Music lovers and/ or Ashlee Simpson-Wentz fans would be disappointed with this piece of news. The 25 year old singer is on the verge of kissing her singing career goodbye. The reason, of course, is a very emotional one. She feels singing is not allowing her any time to spend with her 11 month old son, Bronx Mowgli Simpson-Wentz. Her frequent and long tours take her away from her son and don’t allow a consistent or stable home life. However, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz would continue to act. She believes acting would leave her with enough time to spend with her son.
Ashlee Simpson-Wentz had started her singing career with a bang. Her debut album, Autobiography, released in July 2004, sold a whopping 398,000 copies in the first week itself and was declared a bestseller. Autobiography, in spite of mixed reviews, got a triple platinum certification in September 2004. She was the co-lyricist of all the songs of Autobiography.
2004 was a landmark year in her singing career. In August 2004, Ashlee was honored with the “Song of the Summer” Teen Choice Award for “Pieces of Me,” plus the “Fresh Face” award. In December, she won a Billboard Award for New Female Artist of the Year and was declared by Entertainment Weekly Magazine as a Breakout Star.
However, her performance at the 2005 Orange Bowl Show at Florida got scathing reviews. During her first America and Canada tour in 2005, Ashlee performed her own unreleased song “Hollywood,” The Pretenders’ “Brass in Pocket,” Blondie’s “Call Me,” etc. Her second album, I am me, released in October 2005. it didn’t enjoy as sweet a success as Autobiography but the tracks ‘Boyfriend’ and ‘L.O.V.E’ had become quite popular. Ashlee performs with her band on stage.
She had a guest appearance in The Hot Chick (2002) and a full role in Undiscovered (2005). Her television career includes 7th Heaven (2002-04), The Ashlee Simpson Show (Reality Show, 2004-05) and Melrose Place (2009).
Simpson tied the knot with lyricist and bassist Pete Wentz on 17th May, 2008 after an ‘on and off’ relationship that continued for quite ome time and was the subject of much speculation. In may 2008, the couple announced publicly that Ashlee was pregnant and on 20th November 2008, their little bundle of joy, Bronx, was born.
