Assassination of Martin Luther King Jr

This is a event I found out by doing some research.

ASSASSINATION OF MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

The event I chose was The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. he was a civil rights leader. He was also a Baptist minister. His dad was a Baptist minister. He led the nonviolent movement for African American equality. He was the only people kept their cool and did not fight back. On April 4 1968 at 6:01 Pm, James Earl Ray assassinated him, with a sniper. He was in Memphis, Tennessee. He was in the balcony in his motel room at the Lorraine Motel, in suite 306. It was a sad day for everybody. He was a great and inspiring man. He his role model was Mohandas Gandhi. Gandhi he led the nonviolent movement in India against Britain. Who was Dr. Martin Luther king you may ask me, he led the Montgomery Bus Boycott in 1955.

James Earl Ray assassinated him. He was caught trying to leave the U.S., and to board a plane to South Africa or Britain. He had a fake airplane pass with a Britain name. He was sentence to 99 years in prison on April 10; he was put in a penitentiary. Three days later, he tried to escape with other convicts, but he was caught and they sentenced him to another year in jail. So now, he has a 100 year sentence.

Martin Luther King Jr. won the Nobel peace prize in 1964. When he died, there were riots everywhere. There were riots in all across the United States. The most common and biggest was in Chicago, Baltimore, and Washington. There were other riots but hey were not as big or dangerous as these three. Many people died because of this. Most of the people that died were innocent and some were not innocent. Alt of people went to jail. Its like all of there anger with the civil rights movement just burst out. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the only thing stopping that. Now that he died, violence burst out.

He was a dedicated and nonviolent man. Even though his house was burned down, he stayed calm and did not fight back. He did not fight back even though all his stuff was gone and his family might have died because they were in there. Everybody else got angry and wanted to fight back, but he was the only one that stayed calm. However, unfortunately the black panthers raised they were a group of African American who brought violence. They had fully loaded weapons. They also started riots. They believed in “Black Power.” People went on strikes, in Memphis.

Marin Luther King Jr. had a Quote, “I have a dream.” It became very famous. President Lyndon B. Johnson used it in his speech. When President Lyndon B. Johnson used it, Martin Luther King Jr. was so happy. His whole family was happy. I think he is an inspiring man. He could teach us all about respect and how accomplish stuff with out violence. This is my report on the assassination of Marin Luther king Jr.

There’s interesting circumstance that M.L.K. himself is a COMMUNIST speak.. thats the only reason why he was killed. Communists are not welcome in USA, ever. Even FBI investigated his own wiretaps.

People in America tend to say something negative about good people. They need to put labels on them like “communist” or “liberal” or “extreme liberal”. That says it all. Reckless politicians who jeopardize the future of this country are rarely criticized. We should honor Martin Luther King for the good things he has done and what he achieved in his short life.
