Meena (full name Meena Dhurai Raj) was born on 16 September 1977 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She is a beautiful South Indian actress who was the most successful actress in all South Indian languages. She is also an actress who did not lose craze with growing age. Many actresses rise to fame and then fade quickly in few years. But Meena is one actress who continued to rise as a leading South Indian actress.

Actress Meena started acting at the age of 5 in childhood, debuting in Tamil film Industry (Kollywood) with film Nenjangal in 1982. The lead actor Ganesan of this film brought her to act as a child artiste after he noticed her in a birthday party. What more, Meena continued acting as a child artiste for years with a film count of 45.

Meena debuted as a heroine immediately as she entered into her teenage (13 years) in Tamil film Oru Pudhiya Kadhai in 1990. She has acted in countless Tamil films and also acted in many Telugu films (Tollywood). She has hit films like Muthu, Ejaman, Veera, Avvai Shanmugai, Bhamane Satyabhamane, Muta Mestri, Chanti and many more. She has acted along with many popular actors of different times starting from 1990 till now. She continues to act in leading roles as an actress but her movies with glamorous roles are over. But she hardly did such roles as most her films show her in traditional South Indian girls’ roles.

Meena has also acted in Kannada and Malayalam films. Notable films are Autograph in Kannada and Santhwanan in Malayalam. It is hard to list all of her films here but can you remember her good Telugu film Surya Vansham with Venkatesh, recent Telugu film Vengamambha and recent Tamil film Thambikottai? She not only has countless films in her list not only as heroine but also as child actress and supporting roles but again she has many hit films to her credit. She got more number of Best Actress awards in both Tamil and Telugu film Industries. She has also acted in few Hindi films as well.

Meena has decided to get marry to a Software Engineer from Bangalore only recently. This year she got married on 12 July 2009 at Tirupathi Balaji Temple (Tirupathi Venkateshwara Swamy Temple). She wishes to continue her acting career. She is not only an actress but also a model, acted in several commercial advertisements, television shows, contests and a singer. Her cute little smile, beautiful expressions, dialogue delivery etc. are not forgotten by fans of generations.
