Shriya is born on September 11 1982 in Uttarakhand state. But she settled as an actress in Telugu film industry though her native language is different. She is like many other actresses (Bhumika, Aindrita etc.) who come from other states and make a living in Tollywood. All these actresses share common Indian beauty and somehow appear as if they are hottest local girls.

Shriya has not only worked in Tollywood (Telugu film Industry) and Kollywood (Tamil film Industry), but also acted in a film in Hollywood (English, US). In 2008 she acted in “The Other End of the Line”. This film was not a success but it was a good opportunity though. Till date she is the only Telugu actress to have got an opportunity in Hollywood and at such an early age or early in her career.

Shriya is still in her early stages of career but has acted prolifically in many Telugu and Tamil films. Her first Telugu film Ishtam in 2001 did not make any event. But in the second film Santhosham in 2002 along with very popular actor Nagarjuna, she grabbed all the attention in Tollywood. She quickly rose to fame as the next leading actress. She got many more offers from there on and even entered in Tamil film Industry (Kollywood). There also she could make it big.

Though Shriya Saran had worked in many films and nominated for awards she did not receive any awards. This is true considering that she is best at feeling superior but bad at acting. She cannot do roles needing seriousness. That is why she cannot portray a character fully involved on screen.

Shriya Saran’s most popular hit films in Telugu are Santhosham released in 2002 and Taagore released in 2003. In Tamil (Kollywood), “Sivaji The Boss” (also dubbed into Telugu) in 2007 and Kanthaswamy in 2009 are the most popular of her films. Acting was Shriya’s dream and she is glad that finally became an actress. She indeed became the popular south Indian actress.
