According to royal protection sources, a bodyguard from the royal protection unit will be dressed as a liveried footman and be placed on the same wedding coach with Prince William and Kate Middleton on their wedding day.
The bodyguard is said to have been given the orders to act as a bullet catcher in the event of an attack on Prince William during the wedding. The bodyguard who will be armed is expected to use his body as a shield for Prince William thereby sacrificing his life in order to prevent Prince William from being killed or wounded during the wedding procession.

Prince William and Kate Middleton
The alternative to this would be for the newly married Prince William and Kate to ride in a closed, bullet-proof coach. But riding in a bullet-proof coach by the royal couple has been ruled out.
According to royal protection sources, Prince William and Kate Middleton know that whatever the danger that is likely to happen, there are thousands of people who have lined up on the route they would be traveling, eagerly awaiting to see them therefore they cannot disappoint these people.

The 1902 State Landau That Prince William and Kate Will Ride In
The measure of using a person as a bullet catcher or sacrifice for the Prince comes after a disaster almost occurred in December when vicious groups of people attacked Prince Charles and Camilla while they drove in a car during riots.
The royal couple will travel in the open 1902 State Landau that was used by Charles and Diana in 1981 during the couple’s wedding.
