Brett Favre is a Democrat???

Often embattled off again on again NFL quarterback Brett Favre of the Minnesota Vikings  apparently favors Democrat candidates over Republican ones according to information just released by the Center for Responsive Politics.

In that report it was discovered that Favre donated nearly $5000 to Democrat Congressman Gene Taylor of Mississippi.  That amount puts Favre among the top of the list of NFL player political donations.  On average, the NFL gives more to Republicans than Democrats, with Republicans acquiring $457,000 in political donations to Democrats $338,000.

So how is the support of Favre helping Gene Taylor?  Not much.  Taylor currently trails in the polls against his Republican opponent Steven Palazzo.
