Sally Stewart, a spokesman for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, reported that Murphy died at 10:04 am on Sunday. He did not give the cause of death nor any additional information.

The fire department of the city received a call made at 8 am on Sunday from a house in Los Angeles, which appears in the telephone directory under the name of British writer Simon Monjack, who is married to Murphy. Gale said one person was taken to a hospital.

Messages that The Associated Press she left the agent and her publicist were not immediately returned.

Murphy was born on 10 November 1977 in Atlanta, grew up in New Jersey and later moved with his mother in Los Angeles to try his luck in acting.

His early roles came at the beginning of the 1990s with small holdings in television series, commercials and films. Its most outstanding performances came with “Clueless”, “Girl, Interrupted,” and “8 Mile”.

In recent years had fewer roles on screen, but his voice gave life to many animated characters, including Luanne Platter in over 200 episodes of the series “King of the Hill” for Fox and the ping ¼ ina Gloria in “Happy Feet” .

Participated in “The Expendables” Sylvester Stallone’s film whose premiere is scheduled for next year.

Her role in “8 Mile” gave him more recognition, Murphy told The Associated Press in 2003. “That changed a lot,” he said. “(The movie) was the difference (which allowed) that people knew my name and my surname as opposed to when they did not know.”

Murphy gave credit to his mother, Sharon, to be a key to its success.

“When I asked my mother we went to California sold everything and moved for me,” Murphy told the AP. “I’m really grateful to have grown in an environment favoring creativity and not suffocating. She always believed in me.”

Murphy was for a time girlfriend of Ashton Kutcher, who starred with her romantic comedy “Just Married” in 2003.

On Sunday morning Kutcher wrote on his Twitter page: “Today the world lost a bit of sunshine.”

“My deepest condolences to the family of Brittany, her husband and her mother Sharon incredible,” he added.
