Carrie Prejean: The Sex Tape
Here we go again.

Like me, you’d probably have to Google the name Carrie Prejean to find out who she is. Odds are, even after you do, you won’t remember her. But you will soon.
Carrie was Miss California 2009, and finished as the first runner up in the Miss America Pageant. She briefly bought herself her 15 minutes of fame with her answer in the question segment of the pageant, when she was asked about same sex marriage. Her response:
“Well I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one way or the other. We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. You know what, in my country, in my family, I think I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and I believe that it should be between a man and a woman”
Typical pageant answer… poorly worded, proof that said contestant is a moron. And of course, being that we love stupid women and yapping about gay marriage, we paid attention for a few minutes. She was stripped of her title, sued for religious discrimination, blah, blah, blah. And then she mercifully faded back into relative obscurity, aside from a few modeling jobs.
But we forget… female celebrities always have the ace in the hole once their star has faded: the sex tape. Of course, Prejean claims to have nothing to do with it, cites her naivety, protests some. And in the meantime, gets another 15 minutes. She’ll no doubt tour the talk show circuit, extolling her solid Christian beliefs, shed a tear or two, and finish off with a book. Maybe even a TV show. Celebrity economics at its very worst.
So congratulations, Carrie. Enjoy the spotlight, and we’ll see you in a few years on a rash of lousy reality shows on VH1. In the meantime, I need to make a tape… just in case fame finds me for a few minutes.

Yes, I’ve dubbed her “Miss Hypocrisy 2009″. It seems her “sex tape” was even too raunchy for some nude-celebrity websites to show. But I did manage to find a screen-capture of – well, a rather expressive Ms Prejean.

When you are in the spotlight you need to make certain your slate is clean or the public will stone you. Great article.

Well she has admitted to it and is very ashamed of it. So at least she didn’t beat around the bush.
