A new trend among supermodels is not the possession of a certain fashion accessory, or a stylish new haircut. Unexpectedly it has become a necessity for the models to be active in the field of charity work. Many models who origin from non-Western countries had already set an example by giving back to their community, but now people are actually speaking of a true ‘hype’ that is urging models and celebrities to get involved with charity work. Even Hollywood’s trouble child, actress Lindsay Lohan, recently surprised people by announcing her involvement with the BBC for a documentary on underprivileged children in India. Perhaps this is not an entirely selfless act, but nevertheless an initiative that should be encouraged.
