by He sits in jail, for some of the most despicable crimes possible, collecting his full pay!! When he’s actually convicted of these crimes, probably five years down the road at the earliest, will he have to repay what the tax payers have given him??
If I ended up in jail do you think my minimum wage employer would be paying me my full salary?? I think not!!
Just how much money does the commander of Canada’s largest air base get paid? Your guess is as good as mine. The job also comes with benefits. He no longer has to buy groceries because the tax payers are feeding him, and paying for the cook to cook his meals. Those charged with sexual offences are usually put into protective custody so the run of the mill prisoners don’t beat them up or worse.
A few years ago it was estimated that it costs $100.000.00 to keep someone in jail for a year. More if they are in protective custody. Even more if they are on suicide watch, which he is.
So, just how much is the former Commander Russell Williams cost the tax payers, to keep him in jail, to prevent other prisoners from hurting him, to prevent him from committing suicide?? The answer is simple – we’ll never know. Just like we’ll never know for sure how many lives he’s destroyed.
I compared him to Paul Bernardo before the link to Paul Bernardo was made. Paul Bernardo and Russell Williams are the poster boys for why Ontario should bring back the death penalty. They have no regard for human life or the well being of others, so why should we care so much about them that we will continue to pay them in full, house and feed them, protect them from others and protect them from themselves??
Instead of continuing pay these scourges on society their full pay and benefits along with the costs of incarcerating them, they should be suspended without pay, they’ve got a roof over their head and getting three meals a day, if they’re found innocent then give them their back pay. If t they are found guilty, at least the tax payers are not on the hook for supporting them twice.
Knowing this creep lived walking distance from me and that he victimized one of my friends and that he dumped Jessica Lloyd’s body walking from me has lead to a lot of sleepless nights. I live along the shores of Stoco Lake and he accessed his two victims of the home invasions by the shore line of Stoco Lake. Another five minutes walk and he would have been at my door. And I’m contributing to this dirt bag getting his full salary and benefits, and protecting him from the rest of the criminals that want to lay a beating on him, and contributing to the costs of preventing him from committing suicide.
I say give him a rope and hope he does the right thing.
