Different People, Different Histories, Different Views 1
Different people want their voice heard. In this, their voice will be heard.
There are so many people who are unknown to the rest of this world. This series will help you understand and meet a lot of other folks. These people are everyday people such as yourself. Maybe one of these days someone’s voice will be heard from here. They can get the real American people’s views, instead of some other person who has money and doesn’t struggle every day such as we do.
Today we meet Mississippi from Alabama
Mississippi was born July 1977 near Jackson, Mississippi. In 1979, he and his parents left Mississippi and moved to Alabama where he began his new life. He now has a beautiful eight year old daughter who he loves very much. His room painted in gray and red for the Alabama football team that he supports. This room includes a lot of collection items for Alabama. He likes to watch movies and drink when his daughter is with the trusting babysitter. He works a full time job, and as most people, he hates being broke.
When asked about what he thought of the last president, he replied, “Georgia Bush has screwed up the economy by being greedy. In some way he was helping raise oil prices. He owns oil rigs that with the more we pay for the oil, the richer he gets. I do not think him being in office and the high prices are a coincidence.
He was then asked about his thoughts on the new president. “I like Barack, he doesn”t read from a card. He speaks from the heart and you can tell that he is real. He is younger, therefore, he has good ideas to turn things around for the modern world. He is not stuck in the older days, which some of the older presidents have a time getting out of. He is putting a lot of good people around him. The media will help, the fact that a lot of the media likes him, brings a lot of communication to the table. Life is now more about perception than reality. The media will make people believe that Barack is going to turn things around, and the more everyday people believe it, the faster it will happen“.
Then comes the discussion of education and schools. “My daughter goes to a wonderful school. I feel safer with her here than I would at any other school. Over all they need better pay for the teachers. It is very sad that McDonalds employees make as much money as the teachers of the schools do. I do not understand that at all. Most schools need more resources such as computers, books, etc. Instead of Bush fighting his daddy”s wars and spending millions every month fighting, he could have been improving our kids resources for learning. I also think drug testing in schools would be a good addition to the school system along with metal detectors. These additions would cut down on the guns and knives being brought into the school, so that this way, maybe the kids could learn instead of being worried about being shot, stabbed, or getting caught up in the wrong crowd’.
This is a man of honesty and protection. He not only wants the economy to get better, but also wants his daughter to be safe. A lot of us are focused on the economy, but in actuality we need to be worried about our children’s future. They will one day grow and have to survive in this country and its economy. I give thanks to Mississippi for all his help and cooperation with this article.
