After all these years of silence Elizabeth Smart forced to spill it all in a court of law. Telling her story could have a possitive or an adverse affect on the young woman who was kidnapped and married in a mock wedding to a religous guru that used her own faith in God to try and make her believe that she some how desserved what she was being put through. What a sicko!
Can you even imagine what an ordeal that must have been for a child? Her abductor has the nerve to call himself a man of God. Maybe someone needs to tell him that God doesn’t condone raping and exploiting innocent children.
That poor girl must have been scared to death, not knowing if she would ever see her parents again or would ever be allowed to go home. I hope she received the proper help after returning home. She will most likely be dealing with this the rest of her life.
Although I was impressed with the fact that she wanted to face-off with the madman that snatched her from her own bedroom while her parents slept just down the hall. That’s really frightening. Our kids aren’t even safe at home.
Elizabeth stated that her abductor told her that she had to be subjected to the humiliation of being repeatedly raped by a man old enough to be her father. What a crock. It’s no wonder kids these days are denouncing the faith and religion of their ancestors when you have people like that relating religion to pain and humiliation and using religion as an excuse to have their way with them. I personally hope that guy is never turned lose to prey on another child.
