Carl Jung (1875-1961)

Carl Jung was perhaps the greatest physiatrist ever born. His interest were many. He studied philosophy, dreams, art, mythology and religion with great interest. He is perhaps most well known for his creation of analytical psychiatry. He had a very good friendship with Sigmund Freud until they had heated arguments over Freud’s obsession with sex; Freud believing everything in psychiatry had it’s basic core in sexual nature. Jung wrote many books on his theories, especially about the collective unconscious.

Frederick Nietzsche (1844-1900)

Frederick Nietzsche can best be described as a maverick in all his pursuits. He was an author, philosopher and writer of many texts. His most well known book is Thus Spake Zarathustra. His talents were many, but he ended up having a mental illness and a complete breakdown. He was stubborn and headstrong toward his disbelief in God and his diatribes against religion. But, he was also a very intelligent man.
