Farrah Fawcett Battle with Cancer Continues

Farrah Fawcett a native of Texas, and famous icon continues with her battle against cancer. Farrah a graduate of W.B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi in the year 1965 was given the title “most beautiful.” She went on to attend the University of Texas and became a sorority sister of Delta Delta Delta. In her early career appeared in several commercial such as noxema, and Wella Balsam shampoo. Most of us know her from her role in the “70’s” in Charlies Angels. For this role she won the People’s Choice Award. She recieved and Emmy nomination for her role in the tv movie “The Burning Red.” This tv movie project was noted as being the 1st to provide a 800 # offering help for victims of domestic violence. She also won acclaim in the off-Broadway movie version of “Extremities.” She was nominated for Golden Globe Awards for portraying Nazi-hunter Beate Klarsfield, and troubled Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton. Her list of achievements and roles are quite extensive.
Since Oct. 4 2006 she has revealed her battle with cancer. Undergoing chemotherapy and surgery. On her 60th birthday Fawcett was reported to be cancer free. Sadly less than 4 months later a malignant polyp was found. With the news of being inoperable and requiring a colstomy Farrah choose to go to Germany. There she recieved holistic treatment. This treatment had proved “unique and aggressive.” Her battle with the disease has continued. April 4 2009 it was reported Farrah had been rushed to the hospital. It was said that she was unconscious and in critical condition. There is however controvesy over these reports. On May 7 Fawcett report to be once again critically ill. In a note to her father she wrote, ” I’ve lived a full and wonderful life. I’ve loved and been loved. I’m happy. I’m ready.” As of mid-May she continues chemptherapy treatment. Those close to her report she has never given up nor has she lost the will to live. I wish her family strength in their trying times, and wish Farrah peace. She has given us many memories.
