I worked with two gentlemen, one a retired fire chief and one a volunteer fire fighter, and they both were trained as paramedics. They had some amazing stories to recount. <br /> <br /> Thanks for your tribute to our modern heroes. Their bravery is not rewarded enough. I'm sure God has a special place for them in heaven. One thing you might point out, firefighters put cash back into every property owners pocket. Didn't know that ? Call your insurance agent and ask what your insurance premium (payment)would be if there was NO fire department or if your fire department rating was not as low as it it (fire departments are rated from 10 to 1 with 10 being no department) yes we have a cost, but our efforts return to our citizens in life saftey and saved dollars both.
