The first photos of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords since he was shot in the head during a mass shooting in Tucson five months ago were released yesterday morning.
Two images released Sunday shows a smiling Rep. Gabrielle Gifford with hair much shorter and darker, and little evidence of wounds suffered when a bullet pierced his skull five months ago.

Images, even clearer legislator who was the target of a fatal shooting in Arizona, May 17, were taken by a professional photographer in a rehabilitation center in Houston.
The images were posted on the Facebook page of Gifford and has not been altered or modified, depending on its staff.
They “show Gabby has moved a significant distance since 08 January,” the day a gunman killed six, Giffords was shot in the head and wounded more than a dozen people at a meeting to greet constituents in Tucson, Karamargin chief spokesman.
When aid attack Gifford and family have jealously guarded by the appearance of the Congress and the news of his recovery, which was mainly released by doctors who have conducted operations to cure injuries and other cerebral edema caused by its gunshot wounds.
Ready to be published as soon as this month of his rehabilitation center who was a member of Congress in an attempt to curb the paparazzi interest in his condition and appearance, Karamargin said.
In April, rumors circulated that a premium is $ 200,000 images Giffords in recovery.
“That was the decision of Mark and Gabby” said Karamargin. “There is intense interest in the appearance of the member and on the eve of his departure for outpatient treatment, thought it was a good way to satisfy public curiosity.”
His recovery has been hailed by doctors and staff. Gifford should be released earlier this month from the Houston Medical Center, where she underwent treatment, including surgery cranioplasty May
Gifford was “smiling and laughing,” says the photographer KP Weiss, a former photojournalist made by the legislature to take pictures, adding that “she seemed to enjoy the experience.”
But the questions still hanging their cognitive skills, speech and political future.
The shooting took place the day following Gifford was sworn into his third term in Congress.
“We know it will be a marathon than a sprint, but his discharge, outpatient care, is another sign of progress,” said Karamargin.

Last week, the team sang “Happy Birthday” to a member of a conference call. She replied: “That’s good. Thank you,” according Karamargin.
The photos were taken one day after she went to Florida to see her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, the space launch space shuttle Endeavour.
In a news helicopter captured video Giffords was seen standing on a wheelchair and walked slowly up the stairs to the airplane. But the images were too grainy to get a clear sense of its essence.
Photos published Sunday showed some signs of the bullet that penetrated the left side of his brain. One eye is smaller than the other, his eyebrows slightly offset and there is a small depression near his left eye.
Soon after, he shot some of the skull Giffords’ was removed to ease pressure on his brain from swelling. In May, the plastic to pay that part of his skull was put back in place.
