GOSSIP

Gossip can be apart of our lives everyday.  However, that doesn’t mean that it is a good thing.  Some gossip doesn’t hurt others, but that might only be because it is not about someone.  You should never do gossip if it is about somebody, especially if it can hurt their feelings.  There are many ways gossip can affect you.  One, if you create it.  Second, if you repeat it and finally if you hear it. 

First of all, you should never create or start gossip.  Gossip can always hurt someone, even if it seems harmless.  If you create gossip, it is really hard to stop.  In fact, it is like opening a pillow, letting all of the feathers fly away and and then when you know you’ve done something wrong, you go and try to collect all of those feathers.  You see the feathers are like lies and they spread out to different people.  This is another reason you don’t gossip. 

The second way, gossip can affect us is if we spread gossip.  Gossip is like a chain, it passes down from person to person.  It is also like the game, “Telephone”.  Each time it is passed down, it may sound a lot different from the original story.  This just makes gossip even worse.

The last reason gossip can affect us is if we hear gossip.  If you hear gossip, the least you can do is not spread it.  This will help the person the gossip is about.  If you don’t connect this chain of gossip and don’t spread it, you might be the main reason if it stops.  So don’t continue and contribute to gossip.

Gossip is something we should never do.  Remember the things that could affect our lives about gossip.  One, if you create it.  Two, if you spread it, and finally, if you hear it.  Also, remember to not contribute to the chain of gossip and if at all try to break it.  This is because we all are human and we all have feeling that we don’t want to be hurt.  It hurts you, your friends and others.  So don’t do it!
