Grooming a Prince (Prince William’s Life in Pictures and Videos)

Prince William’s life in pictures. A showcase of the results indicating the ways the British Monarchy is grooming their heir.

The Church of England’s baptismal waters is used on His Royal Highness Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales to which he reportedly squealed with delight.

It was said that William made a milestone when his mother, Princess Diana, sent him off for his education to Notting Hill’s Wetherby School for his pre-prep. Heirs to the throne are schooled first in the palace before ultimately being sent off to ordinary schools then to boarding schools.

Wombat, Princess Diana’s nickname for the then unstoppable William, being prepared for royal duties by his mother. He was 8 years old in this picture when he had this first formal engagement. Though originally Prince Charles and Princess Diana were planning to separate when the boys are old enough, probably already in the university, it would be a year later when William turned 9 that his parents would announce a formal separation.

Something only royals could do best even when they’re young – the tight upper lip. William, 15, and Harry, 12, during the last moments before their mother is finally laid to rest. Diana’s sons had to walk their mother’s funeral cortege in front of a million people. Ten years later William and Harry staged a concert. The heir was quoted, “There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think about her.” True. Even in his forthcoming wedding the engagement ring he gave Kate belonged to his mom and he would say “I do” in the last place he was with his mother, Westminster Abbey.

The prince as a heartthrob. Here he is indulging in one of his favorite sports at Eton College.

Here comes Kate. After finishing at Eton William goes to St. Andrews University in Scotland where he met a lot of girls. In the end the most patient one, roommate Kate, won.

The prince graduates from St. Andrews. He now has a diploma and a stepmom. He took comfort in the fact that Camilla is now there and is part of his family because she makes his dad happy.

Prince William then went to the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst where during his graduation his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, after passing by him remarked, “You look familiar,” to which made the Prince giggle. This is the first official engagement Kate Middleton had in the presence of the Queen.

Definitely proving his mother’s proudest legacy insiders are noted as saying, “When he walks into the room you cannot help but see his mother in him. However, once he talks, it is all but Prince Charles you’re reminded of.”

The grandson, future king, gets annointed as a Royal Knight Companion by the queen. This means he is already considered a senior, whatever that means in royal circles, within the royal family.
