Hot Actors in Their 50 and 60s: Richard Gere, Hugh Laurie, Tony Denison, Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins
Trivia, part 1, for actors who are in their 50s and 60s and are handsome. Features Richard Gere, Hugh Laurie, Tony Denison, Kevin Costner and Tim Robbins.
I am currently writing an article series called The Hunky Actors of the 80s and 90s. The first two articles are Hunky Actors of the 80s and 90s: Michael Douglas, Kevin Costner and Mel Gibson and the second article features Brad Pitt, Patrick Swayze and Christian Slater. Now, some of the men in the articles got older and lost their looks (such as Michael Douglas and Mel Gibson), or some of them are still hot but aren’t in their 50s or 60s yet (such as Brad Pitt and Christian Slater). So this article is a tribute to men who are aging well. Yes, I had previously written an article about celebrities that aged well, but only Tim Robbins on that list was over 50. So including Tim again, this is to the other guys. These guys don’t necessarily look young or at least younger than they are. But they all have something in common: no matter how old they are or how old they look, they look great. Feel free to add actors in comments if you think I forgot about some of the older hotties.
1. Tim Robbins – Born: 1958
Ex-boyfriend of Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins is still enjoying the benefits of having a baby face. Sure, his hair is white but his face still hasn’t lost his boyish charm. Tim Robbins was good-looking in Shawshank Redemption (1994) and in Nothing to Lose (1997) and he was handsome in The Secret Life of Words (2005) and in Noise (2007).
2. Hugh Laurie – Born: 1959
I have to admit, Hugh Laurie actually looks old for his age, at least compared to Tim Robbins and Tony Denison. But, it doesn’t change the fact that he is over 50 and he is very attractive. And yes, it has a lot t do with his brilliant character House.
When I first watched the show, I saw Hugh Laurie and Jesse Spencer for the first time and thought, Jesse was too good-looking to be a supporting character and Hugh was just not good-looking, at all. Then I hear his voice, saw his manners, got to know the character and well…15 minutes into the show, I found Laurie more attractive than Spencer. 7 seasons into the show, I still find Laurie more attractive.
3. Richard Gere - Born: 1949
Richard is showing his wrinkles but then why shouldn’t he? He starred in Brooklyn’s Finest alongside Ethan Hawke and Don Cheadle – both good-looking and younger actors and well, I think Richard still wins in the looks department.
4. Tony Denison – Born: 1949
I am loving Tony Denison’s Lieutenant Flynn in the hit crime/drama series The Closer. He has
great skin, really carries that grey/white hair well and given a choice between him, Corey
Reynolds (Sergeant Gabriel) and Jon Tenney (FBI Agent Fritz Howard), I would have to pick Tony
Denison. Yes, Corey and Jon are younger and both are attractive, but Flynn looks really good and
he did pass 60.
5. Kevin Costner – Born: 1955
Kevin Costner is not as gorgeous he used to be and sure he needs some help in the hair department,i but if you have seen him in Mr. Brooks, you probably realized he is still looking pretty great. Even with glasses and a bowtie.
To keep this article shorter and easier to read, 5 other actors will be featured in a second article. Those actors are Pierce Brosnan, Alan Rickman, James Woods and Dennis Quaid.
