Having a talent will help you later in life too. It helps you stand out. People will be amazed at what you can do if it’s from college applications to job interviews. People will recognize what you can do and admire you. This will help you score some points with what you are aiming for in life, whether it is to be a doctor or be rich. For example, the violin is a very complicated instrument. It takes years of hard practice to master it and lots of lessons. But the rewards are great later. Say that you are trying to get into a medical school. You participate in an orchestral group with many medical graduates. If you have good buddies in that group then they might be able to help you get into medical school. They might give a good report about you and send it to the school. You will probably have a greater chance in getting in than someone who doesn’t have a friend who is a doctor sending a good review about you. So don’t give up on something that you worked hard on all your life. You never know how it will help you out later in life.
