Icon of Verity
This article aims at provoking people, especially youths to a life of truthfulness.
An icon is an epitome, paragon and portrait of a particular quality or achievement. Verity on the other hand is synonymous with truth. Therefore, my topic can be reframed as ‘portrait of truthfulness’ or ‘epitome of verity’. Permit me to affirm that this quality is rare in our generation and my review of this matter might offend some. I will counsel you my reader to read on if you desire to be a great personality in life. Here is my quotation and mark it: Great men face the truth and make amendments where necessary so as to rise higher, little men defend falsehood and remain where they are. Where do you stand?
To be an icon of verity entails that you must be known for something-straightforwardness, sincerity and stability in truth and that over a long period of time. Someone once said, “Charisma can take you to the top but character will keep you there”. In your journey to greatness, this virtue must be taken along. Without it you will not be able to remain great even if you ever become great.
To be an icon means that you become a pointer, a role model for others in a particular thing or area. Many in our world today are not too bothered about living a truthful, sincere life but if you can stand out, it is a common phenomenon that other will want to be like you and so emulate you. They emulated great people that have always stood for something like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther, Jesus Christ etc. If they emulated these, they will emulate you too if you stand for truth.
I pose to you a challenge! Will you be an ICON OF VERITY? The choice is yours to make a difference in your generation!
