I’m Tired of Tiger News! Can We Move on Please?!
Have we lost track of what’s really news nowadays???

Ok, sure. Tiger Woods is one of the greatest athletes in sports and it is a shock that he is taking a break from golf, I’ll give him that. Yet, I really am done with hearing about it over and over and over… I can sum up all the headlines I’ve heard the past couple of weeks on my favorite news sources *ahem:
- HE CHEATED!
- TIGER WOODS CHEATED!
- CHEETAH WOODS!
- WOODS’ NINE IRON (or fifteen iron now I suppose?)
- WOODS TAKING A BREAK!

I understand that this is pretty big news considering we rarely ever hear anything about Tiger’s personal life, but give it a rest people. The man is ruined and there’s nothing more you need to cover. I’m pretty sure the number of women he slept with while married is much less than 15, and I’m pretty sure there can be nothing else said that will surprise the public (He slept with a man perhaps?). We’ve all let it go just a bit too far, and now I just don’t care.
Is this news going to effect my everyday life? NO! Is this news going to benefit or hinder me in anyway at all? NO! The coverage of the story, the first week was fine I suppose, but I feel like it shouldn’t still be a headliner for news across the globe. What happened to the economy? What happened to the health-care bill? What happened to the war on the other side of the world?
Here’s my suggestion: keep the entertainment news to the entertainment people (TMZ, Hollywood Access, etc.) and let’s keep the boring important stuff to the real news (ABC, CNN, does Fox News count?). I still want to know if I’m going to come out of debt anytime soon. I still want to know if our troops our coming home. I already know that Tiger is a “Cheetah” you don’t need to tell me twice… Besides, 15 mistresses means he would’ve actually had to have a relationship with the women, and I’m pretty sure most of them are hookers (btw, he’s gotten checked right?)
Maybe this is a way for news broadcasting on television to attract viewers again, broadcast popular stories rather than important ones. No one really watches the news now, do they? I mean we do have the Internet and our phones (what’s a newspaper? Oh really? ewwwww…). TV news has lost its edge and is slowly getting lost in our advancing society that now it’s come down to entertainment rather than information. Oh well I suppose. Could it get any worse? Well, we did think that Tiger only cheated once at one point…
