Issue of Inequality

In Afghanistan there is a huge amount of inequality towards women. Men are treated a lot better and every aspect of the females are looked down upon. This affects women in their social life, what they are able to do, their education and how they move. For women to be able to leave the house in Afghanistan they have to be accompanied by a male family member. Under the governments and Taliban’s beliefs women have different views, morals and ideas, resulting in men having the final say over women. Forced marriages are also common. Laws created by the Government are against this but they are not enforced, so forced marriage continues. Many cases like this occur and prove to us all that in Afghanistan there is a huge issue of inequality.

Support for Women

In Afghanistan there is an alarming lack of support for women. A lot of women suffer depression and some get suicidal. In our country this would be unacceptable but in the country of Afghanistan this problem is only overlooked and thought to be normal. The Government pretends to care support for women and the organisations that try to help women. Out of the very little organisations one of them about inequality but instead they seem to support it. This being the case they offer very little featured in the article showed how one lady managed to setup a shelter for burn victims, depression sufferers, assault victims, rape victims, women charged for adultery and more. This support center helped many and will help a lot more in the future. If there were more places like this and the Government supported it there would be a lot more help for women in Afghanistan.

Government stance

The Afghani Government is, although they hide the fact, against women. There is no support for women given by the government or support for the organisations who try to help. The Afghanistan Government is also extremely corrupt with most members being very good friends with warlords. This corrupt government is against women and thinks anything a man says or does is better than when a female does it. Any issue brought up concerning females is usually not taken seriously. Police officers are also extremely corrupt and do not enforce the laws properly. A Government like this has ended up with problems such as inequality, terrorism and more. If they had a change of government which had better thoughts, ideas and weren’t corrupt Afghanistan could be greatly improved.
