I watched the BET Awards on June 27, 2010 and I was ecstatic when I saw Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz sitting together and I noticed her baby bump. I am happy for Alicia keys and I remembered an acquaintance of mine said that he was glad that a girl like Alicia Keys did not go over to the other side. He challenged that he was afraid that she would end up with a white boy and he was happy that she was with a man from the streets.
He continued that he was glad that light skin women like Beyonce and Alicia Keys are united with Black men. He finished by saying he was upset that everyone thought that Alicia Keys (miss goody too shoes) is a home wrecker.
Why are people slinging mud at Alicia Keys?
How can one say that Alicia Keys destroyed Mashonda’s marriage if the union was brittle at the time and already on a path of disintegration?
What about Swiss Beatz? Why is he spared any social chastisement? Is it because he is prominent and rich why he has impunity from the wrath of society’s moral crusaders. He is equally responsible for the infidelity.
Is it easier for the world to reproach Alicia Keys! Are people looking for an opportunity to smudge the reputation of a woman who has managed to keep her public image squeaky clean?
Swizz Beatz must now be the bigger man and handle both women and children with integrity, understanding and commitment to the children produced from both unions. No doubt Mashonda is entitled to feelings of rage, anger and indignation but that will pass and she will recover from the marital lost. It is difficult to let go of someone who envisage spending the rest of your life with and who is the father of your child.
Congratulations Alicia Keys and Mr. Beatz on your bun in the oven and engagement, wishing you marital bliss and lifetime of successes. Will Miss Keys be insecure with other female artistes who work with your partner? Aren’t you afraid that what happened before may happen again? There is a maxim that quotes “the mistress, who becomes the wife, leaves a vacancy in her man’s life’. All the best!

It’s not surprise to hear or see people give Alicia Keys are hard time. We still have not learned how to appropiately place responsibility. You cannot wreck a marriage unless someone is looking for a way out. It is wrong to assist the person if there is no real reason to leave. You should encourage the person to stay or simply leave it alone, but don’t facilitate the infedility. For that reason, I think Alicia isn’t to blame for the falling apart of Beats’ first attempt a marital bliss. I just hope that history doesn’t repeat itself. Good blog!

Alicia Keys is not to blame but why would a woman of good moral character partake in such a situation? Have respect, give that marriage time to come into a complete slumber before you take up with the husband. It was in poor taste on her part. No, I wasn’t there through it all…but there are kids involved and if she and this new beau were meant to be she should have waited and done it in a more respectful way. That’s why patience is a virtue.
