Is The Kennedy Family Cursed?
by The death of senator Edward Kennedy, marks the end of an era for a family which has been thought of as a “cursed” family.
The “curse” of the Kennedy’s has captured the public imagination for more than 50 years.Is there really a curse on this powerful political family? You be the judge.
1941:
Patriarch Joseph Kennedy secretly arraigned a lobotomy for his daughter who had violent and severe mood swings. Rosemary Kennedy spent the rest of her life in a mental institution.
1944:
Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. was killed in an aircraft explosion.He was the oldest son of Joe and Rose Kennedy.
1948:
Kathleen Kennedy Cavendish, the fourth child and second daughter Of Joseph and Rose Kennedy was killed in an airplane crash in France.
1955:
Jacqueline Kennedy suffers a miscarriage of hers and John F Kennedy’s first pregnancy.
1956:
Jacqueline Kennedy gives birth to a stillborn daughter.
1963:
Patrick Bouvier Kennedy dies at three days old. John and Jackie are devastated at the loss of another child.
November 22, 1963:
President John F. Kennedy is assassinated in Dallas Texas.
June 6, 1968:
Robert Kennedy , The younger brother of the late president wins the California Democratic presidential primary and is assassinated In Los Angeles California.
1973:
Edward Kennedy Jr, son of Senator Edward Kennedy, loses his right leg due to bone cancer at age 12.
1973:
Joseph P, Kennedy II, son of the late Robert Kennedy dies in a car accident.
1984:
The late Robert Kennedy’s son David dies of an overdose of Demerol and Cocaine.
1997:
Michael Kennedy, another son of the late Robert Kennedy is killed in a skiing accident In Aspen Colorado.
1999:
John F. Kennedy Jr dies in a plane crash along with his wife and sister in law. John was piloting the plane when it crashed into the Atlantic Ocean near Martha’s vineyard.
Senator Ted Kennedy became the first Kennedy to survive a plane crash in 1964. It had appeared that he had escaped the curse until he was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in May 2008. Tuesday Senator Edward {Ted} Kennedy Passed away at his home in Hyannis Port from brain cancer.
Is the curse finally ended with the death of the last of the Joseph and Rose Kennedy’s children? Only time will tell.

Some of their bad luck was that of their own doing. Like the notorious Chappaquiddick incident, where Ted Kennedy, most probabely drunk, drove his car into the river and killed Mary Jo Kopechne. He left the scene of the accident and didn’t report it until the next day.
Ironically it was therefore his GOOD luck—in that he held both money and power–that helped to beat the rap and get a paltry 2 months suspended jail sentence.
