Author of this article notes:

I was brought up with this actress, my eight aunts, mother and both Grandmothers adored her. She made an impression on me and I based my acting skills on her. I had the leading role in a few plays and always give my thanks to her acting in this film, The Song of Bernadette. To me this portrayed, religion, poverty and love at its best. If you look at the river scene, you will see that the director also allowed a little ‘cheeky’ moment, slip by the cutting room scissors.  I was drawn in when she had her vision, an actress with great qualities.

This article cannot do her justice, just pampers to my youthful memories. RIP Jennifer Jones.

I had never heard of her. How nice that even at 90 she still has fans who mourn her passing. She has left a rich legacy of films for future generations to enjoy, that must be some comfort for her family.

I loved Jennifer Jones, My favorite movie of hers was “Duel in the Sun” with Joseph Cotton and, oh heck, I cant remember the main male star’s name, but he was the dad in “to Kill a Mocking Bird.”
