JK Rowling: From “Rags” to “Riches”

The storywriter of Harry Potter series, Joanne Murray famous with her pen name J K Rowling is now famous all over the world and her life story itself is a story of rags to riches.
Rowling was born in Yate, England on July 31, 1965 to Peter and Anne Rowling. Her childhood had a strong background about her being living among the stories and it was in 1990 when she was traveling on train from Manchester to London when she had this idea of written a book, which was later on sold as 400 million copies making her one of the richest women of the world.
Her life reveals a story of rags to riches as while she was writing the Harry Potter book, her mother died and she was living on welfare. Harry Potter not only changed the way fantasy stories were written but made J K Rowling famous and fetched her different awards.
Rowling was declared twelfth richest women in England by Sunday Times Rich List in 2008 with her fortune close to 560 million pounds.
According to Forbes Rowling is the forty-eighth most powerful celebrity.
Time magazine declared Rowling as the runner-up for the Person of the Year award in 2007.
