Kate Winslet: English Actress and a Singer

Kate Winslet was born on October 5, 1975, Reading, Berkshire, England. Her father Roger John Winslet and mother Sally Ann Bridges were also actors.

Her acting career started on television with children’s science fiction serial Dark Season in 1991 on BBC channel. Her film career started in 1994, she acted on a film Heavenly Creatures.

In 1995, the successful film Sense and Sensibility, which made him a well-known actress in UK.

We all know Titanic is a worldwide highest grossing film. In 1997, she starred in this film. Later it received 11 Oscar Awards and made her a successful actress.

She is not only an actress but also a singer. She sang in some of the films Romance and Cigarettes and Heavenly Creatures.

She married director Jim Threapleton and had a daughter, Mia Honey. Soon after she divorced and married Sam Mendes.

She had received numerous awards and nominations from other organizations, including the Screen Actors Guild and the Evening Standard British Film Awards.

Winslet won five Oscar nominations and five Golden Globe nominations. She also won BAFTA awards and Academy awards. She won Los Angeles Film Critic’s Association (LAFCA) award for Best Supporting Actress for Iris.

For Holy Smoke!, she was Best Actress runner-up at both the New York Film Critic’s Circle (NYFCC) and the National Society of Film Critics (NSFC). Winslet was also NYFCC’s Best Actress runner-up for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
