Kenny Chesney and Weezy
by Kenny Chesney and lil Wayne have a surprising amount of things in common (and some things not in common). They’re both great stars that help keep this great country entertained while we sit at home waiting for our next job.
Just like this great country of ours, music is as diverse as the plastic surgery results of old washed up stars. That doesn’t mean we still don’t love them though, (Miss you Michael!) but sometimes we can’t love everyone.
Mr. Chesney vs. Mr. Carter
Kenny has been on the music scene for a long time, and he’s been quite successful, as has been lil Wayne. However, with his volume and history of cranking out albums, lil Wayne has him beat when it comes to the amount of rewards either has received. Lil Wayne has so many in fact, that there’s an entire page on Wikipedia devoted to all the awards he has received.
Charity
Both men are charitable, which always makes a person awesome. Kenny likes to donate to anticancer causes, while lil Wayne prefers to give his dollars to the One Family Foundation that tries to create and further develop skills in inner city youth so they can go on to be productive, successful members of society.

Lil Wayne’s choice of charity seems more heartfelt, since he seems more in touch with the circumstances of the recipients of his charity money; Mr. Chesney hasn’t had cancer, as far as we can tell.
Education
Both Kenny Chesney and lil Wayne are intelligent adults, though they have taken different paths in their educational journeys. Kenny graduated with a college degree and was a member of a fraternity.

However, lil Wayne dropped out of high school even though he had been an excellent student throughout his childhood and was very gifted in drama as well as academically (he was in the gifted program in elementary school and an honor student in high school).
White House Connections
Both Chesney and Wayne have their ties to the White House. Lil Wayne has been mentioned in public by current president Barrack Obama, though in somewhat of a neutral way (he made comments to children that they probably weren’t going to be a success like him and should try to be doctors and scientists instead). Kenny Chesney actually performed in the White House for then visiting Australian Prime Minister John Howard and his wife. Lil Wayne has until now never performed in the White House.
Incarceration
True to rap star form, lil Wayne has been jailed multiple times for drug possession and criminal weapons charges. He actually just got out from his most recent trip to the prison, from which he released an album while inside called “I Am Not a Human Being”. Mr. Kenny Chesney however, has not released an album while in jail (true to country star form) and hasn’t been incarcerated for possession of illegal substances or firearms. Our guess is that Mr. Chesney is just a typical boring white guy.
Who’s Better?
From what we can tell, they’re both pretty equal (except for the prison thing) and they are both very successful music stars. While Kenny has a leg up on lil Wayne, lil Wayne has much better publicity coverage (keeping your name out there is better than sinking into the background with the same old routine). It’s really up to an individuals personal preference but they’re both successful, and these days that’s very commendable.
