                            Knight and Day sees Tom cruise take on a Comedy Role.

Back in the eighties I first remember seeing Tom Cruise in Top Gun, and since then have watched him in many action packed movies. He always manages to defeat the enemies against all the odds, and why not? After all escapism and improbability, are surely the recipe for an exciting romp, and  exciting stage effects.

I am on holiday in America at this time, and last Saturday I went to see his latest film, Knight and Day, in which he starred with Cameron Diaz. He is a CIA agent, who has given up his life, even to the point of allowing his parents to believe he is dead, to pursue his assault on Evil, which of course involves killing all and sundry, who dare to rise against him.

He manages to become involved with Cameron Diaz along the way, and she does a good job of widening her blue eyes in amazement after each of his near death experiences, and even learns to be a good shot with a gun. The pairing of these two actors is perfect for this tongue in cheek, and absolutely improbable, but nevertheless very hilarious, and entertaining movie. It even manages to have a happy ending, which is unusual these days.

I have said enough about the plot, so my advice is to check it out for yourself, and enjoy it!
