Losing a Legend – Michael Joseph Jackson

Missing Michael Jackson.

The world mourned and grieved like it never has before when it lost the legendary Michael Joseph Jackson on the 25th of June 2009. The news spread within minutes all over the internet and slowed down all networks. News channels kept flashing “King of Pop – DEAD”. While the news in every form publicized his death, it wasn’t something people digested easily. News of the legendary MJ dying wasn’t taken in well by the masses all over the world. Everyone was hoping this was some kind of publicity stunt or that miraculously MJ would be revived to life again.

Michael Joseph Jackson can be regarded as one of the most controversial Pop Stars that ever lived but most of all HE will always be known as the “KING OF POP”. This is one title he deserved compared to the far cry of him being titled as “Molester” “Child torturer” etc. In his 50 years of life, Michael tasted everything from poverty to richness, fame and stardom to lying low, Pop star to child molester! The Man was called to face a lot, speaking of faces; he was a man who had many of them! MJ will always be known for “Black or White”. He sure bridges the gap between Black and white for Indeed, he once was Black and then White!

Michael’s career speaks for his success as a music legend. The boy began when he was 13 and almost immediately was recognized for his rare and amazing music skills. With his shrill screams, brave dance moves and thrilling videos, MJ rocked the music charts and climbed them as high as they would allow. Till date, MJ holds the best selling record for Thriller.  MJ, an American star bridged not only the gap between Black and White but brought nations closer. The man was famous all over the world. He was worshipped and love by millions of people around the globe! If there ever was a doubt about his fame, it was sure proved on his memorial day!

The WORLD indeed mourned, grieved and cried their eyes out when MJ was pronounced dead. I was among those who wouldn’t dare to call themselves a MJ fan but definitely among those who understood the wealthy, unmatchable contribution by this music star! I too mourned; I mourned the death of a star with unmatchable greatness! I mourned the death of a man with talent who had so much more to give but had lost his time! I mourned because I never ever will get to see a live performance and was I looking forward to that?! MJ will never climb any stage again, never thrill a crowd, will never cause anymore fainting, and will never moonwalk again! It was indeed a grim, dark, painful hour when the world stopped and realized a star had passed away!
