Lucky to be Middleclass
Do the Rich and Famous have it better than Us?
As I watch the media coverage of sports figures, movie stars, and celebrities in general, it does not seem to be a lifestyle that suits many humans. We are fascinated with their lives when they fighting for that gold ring, but it seems once they attain it, many life altering addictions seem to take over. Do they need the addictions to cope with the lifestyle changes and if so, what stress does this life style evoke? It would make many very sad indeed to know that the celebrity life that so many envy, may actually not satisfy our souls and can in some cases, do real harm. How would this knowledge of this life style actually not improving our lives, but ruining it have on our perspective and enchantment of celebrity lives? Would we stop watching the e channel and not care what happened to Britney Spears?

I believe there are people that are able to cope with the pressures of being a celebrity. Oprah Winfrey, Barack Obama, Ellen Degeneres, Paula Dean and Rachel Ray to name a few. I also watch other celebrities that can’t seem to pull it together, Tiger Woods, Amy Winehouse, Michael Vick, and Michael Jackson to name a few.
When we look to the elders in our tribe, who has had lives that were fulfilling and gave them a sense of purpose? Should these people be the lives we are learning our life lessons from, and seeking to use their lives as a road map for our own? I think red carpets and celebrity parties are fine in small doses, however it does not seem to be good for humans as a steady diet.
