Theatrical and Look A Like agencies have been making money out of fake faces for years. Norma Jean’s creation, Marilyn Monroe, is one of the best selling brands in history.

Endless organisation are quick to book a counterfeit Monroe, for their Functions. Earning these girls vast sums of money for a few moments of pouting and posing.

The best of these replicas have amassed fortunes greater than the real Marilyn Monroe. Often perfecting their act to include a few of Marilyn’s songs. The most requested is her breathless version of, Happy Birthday to you.

Its even been reported many of these doubles take on the aura of the star themselves.

Surrounding themselves with the copied clothes and memorabilia of the real Monroe. Several of these impersonators have appeared in documentaries and films about her death. Many have visit the hotel and home she once lived in.

Marilyn’s life of a blond sex goddess wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. Towards the end of her life, she hated this image. Longing to be taken seriously and given more meaty acting roles. At the end of her life Norma Jean told those close to her, she was afraid to grow old. Knowing how Hollywood treated fading stars like Marilyn Monroe.

By the time of her death at the age of thirty six, Marilyn was almost finished in the movies. Age was catching up with her and it was only a matter of time before someone younger took over the sex bomb role.

Marilyn had affairs with both the Kennedy brothers. Bitter arguments broke out between her and Bobbie Kennedy shortly before she died. Ending the affair after she realized Bobbie would never leave his wife for her.

Marilyn learnt too late, that many of her lovers wanted her for sex only. She fulfilled their sexy fantasy, doing for them what their wives wouldn’t.

She had been used all her life.

Perhaps this realization was the reason for her agreeing to re marry a previous husband, Jo DiMaggio. He had been the only man who truly loved her.  But fate had other plans and on August 4th 1962, she died from an accidental overdose of pills.

Marilyn Monroe died nearly Fifty years ago, but she is still one of the most sort after Icons.

For this reason successful impersonators need more than a platinum wig and a white pleated dress to complete the  image. The only way to replicate her, is to become her.
