Mckenzie Steals The Show
The birth of first grand daughter, the experience at the sight of being there when this special baby was being born, "Baby Bird Lips".
“Baby Bird Lips”, daughter of “Birdy”, who was baby bird before her, was born just three days ago. “Baby Bird Lips” given name is McKenzie Layne. She’s home from the hospital now, safe with her brand new mommy and daddy, where their already bright life has lightened up even more with love for this bundle of joy. Words from the fabled Aesop, “Little friends may prove great friends”, is already realized. There is absolute magic and miracle with the birth of a child. To witness a birth is to be given the most beautiful and precious gift you could ever receive.
Certainly not to be putting modern day pregnancies and delivery down by calling them a “piece of cake”, the process is seemingly much easier now, than compared to the years when I had my “Birdy” and her brother, Michael. In today’s world, I found that during my daughter’s pregnancy and delivery, women are definitely better informed. Women are more comfortable, and childbirth appears not to be as painful nor “laborious”, (no pun intended), compared to childbirth of my generation. Medicine has progressed to such a fantastic degree and I am personally greatly relieved at how obstetrics has become such a fine science. I’m thankful my daughter did not have to endure the rigors I had undergone. She came home looking wonderful and was already happily tending to her new motherly chores with such love and happiness three days after delivery. Once again, I was greatly relieved.
From country to city, our ride to the hospital took less than twenty minutes. We arrived at 6:30 a.m., one mother and father-to-be, one grandmother-to-be, and a great grandmother-to-be. Excitement was mixed with anxiety to be sure. Silent prayers for protection were said during this ride, knowing my mother, and knowing myself, for safe delivery of both new mother and child, good health as well.
Greeted by a friendly and loving staff, we were able to ward off the pent up feelings of concern. We knew our precious cargo had been released into safe hands. The labor and delivery room were combined into one, outfitted with every thing necessary for bringing babies into the world. What I thought to be a closet was actually another small room equipped with incubator and items solely for the baby. Next to my daughter’s hospital birth-style bed was a monitor that gave readings of the mother’s blood pressure and the baby’s heart rate. Another machine registered in graph, the closeness and magnitude of contractions. A second graph indicated the same signs for baby. Above the bed, located in the ceiling, was a unit that could be brought down and I have to suppose here, that it would be used if a C-section was indicated.

Thanks Joe,
I do have some heavier subjects to still get on here so maybe some of these are not so interesting reads for men but I sure appreciate your coming by. I am still having navigation probs here and the text goes all over from where I put it so need to learn that too.
Best regards!
