Michael Jackson: A Profitable Death

Since Michael Jackson’s death there has been so much publicity, it seems his memory will always live on. The movie of never seen before rehearsal footage will be screened this month and it leaves the question; is it going too far?

The death of the legendary King Of Pop was a shock to the world, but since his death many people have said that the news coverage has been taken too far, and his family and the likes of AEG; the promotional company who were to stage his comeback are using his death for financial gain.

Since his death there has been arrangments for tribute concerts all over the world, box sets, dvds, posters, books, a new album and single due to be released and the biggest of all the movie entitled “This is it” which contains footage of never seen before footage of the last weeks of Michael Jackson’s life. The film will be screened all over the world from the 28th October and is set to make millions for the Michael Jackson estate, AEG and Sony pictures. It seems the MJ moneymaking machine is working in overdrive since his death. Some have said its a good thing because most of the money will go to his kids and their future, this may be the case but these large organisations will still be making a profit and lining their pockets as a result of Jackson’s death.

So many  business owners have used the death of an icon as a way of making some extra money and boosting their cashflow. Market stools are selling Michael jackson pictures, clocks, T shirts, bags and much more. This has been the case for many stars who have died, namely Elvis, River Phoenix, Kurt Cobain and Marvin Gaye.

We as a nation seem to put money before common decency, people should just let the man rest in peace and stop trying to squeeze the last penny out of his passing.

You know we live in a greedy world, if you die and have money and were well loved. Someone is always gonna have their hand out. Sad!
